Capturing screenshots may not be glamorous, but SnagIt can turn this chore into a quick walk in the park. SnagIt lets you capture any part of your screen, from a partial image to the entire contents of a scrolling window. In fact, you can snag anything you see on Web sites and software applications, grab images from scanners or digital cameras, or capture video and record screen action in AVI format.
The Editor and Studio tools appeal to creative types. Editing tools let you manipulate and enhance captures using effects (such as Brightness, Hue, and Saturation), filters, and borders. You can add arrows, substitute colors in the captured image, or create dark or light backgrounds with a single click.
This program outdoes itself in features, so it may take a while to figure out the menu structure. However, even with its package of powerful options, we found SnagIt a flexible and easy-to-use program. Balloon tips and an online video tutorial make it work for beginners, and sophisticated capabilities--such as the ability to export images to graphic applications, to send text and images to a word-processing document or a spreadsheet, and to make direct e-mail captures--will satisfy advanced users.

"It provides all the options you'll need via a simple tabbed approach"
Pros: All forms of capture can be sent to convert images, text video or web page content , for output options that include direct to file, printer and instant messaging. Tohether with the ability to save particular capture configurations as profiles, this provides invaluable flexibility. I liked it!

Pros: I have used SnagIt for a long time. It's simply the best there is. It's user friendly and feature rich.
Cons: Some great improvements would be a) a short cut to open the useful SnagIt Editor, b) better ability to capture larger videos on screen (videos captured tend to be a blank/black, even video stills), c) the ability to capture screen video/motion and save as a GIF file (like in Camtasia).

Pros: I have tested with a few other screen capture softwares and this is by far the best. It captures everything that is on your screen (except graphical text) and shows it brilliantly. The capture region captures all shapes whether it's a rectangle, ellipse, circle, polygon, triangle or freehand! You can save your capture in multiple formats of your choice and you can edit it very efficently and easily. The features that come with it match up with the price and work very well. Any technical support you need, you can use a variety of ways to contact help.
Cons: Dosen't support windows 95.

Pros: This program captures anything on the screen and does it easily.(once your profiles are saved
Cons: Video file sizes are huge. If u want to email something u need to convert to a smaller format. Also i think the capture options profiles could be simplified.
