Publisher's description
From SmartSync Software :SmartSync Pro is a universal tool for backing up and synchronizing your important data to your local drive; external flash, USB, or ZIP drive; CD or DVD; NAS or other storage device; network volume; or even remote computer. If source data is destroyed or lost, it can easily be recovered. An intuitive wizard will help you set up what to copy, and where and when to copy it. The program replicates only new and updated files, which substantially reduces synchronization time. SmartSync Pro allows you to synchronize files and folders when computers cannot be connected over a local network. Its filtering system lets you keep synchronized only the files you need. The application has a set of built-in features, such as a task scheduler, data compression, activity logging, notification, and password protection.
Version 2.11.0.896 adds two languages: Chinese Simplified and Chinese Traditional.

Version: SmartSync Pro 2.11.0.896
Pros: I like this program although I haven't actually had to repair or re-intstall anything yet. I did a trial on a file that I purposly made, backed up and then deleted and smartsync worked great. Very easy to setup, which is what I was looking for.
Cons: None yet.

"Does some really cool stuff!"
Pros: I'm been using this program for roughly four years now and it was the only one that fulfilled all of my needs. It's simple enough to get up and running quickly, yet you can go in the back door and find details that will satisfy the geek in you.
...........................................................................................
There are hundreds of ways you can use it including have it back up a set of files, automatically zip those files up, and email those files to an address of your choice after the backup.
...........................................................................................
How do I use it? Well I have two USB external 200 Gig drives which I use SmartSync to, you guessed it, "sync". Every night while I sleep Smartsync compares the contents of the two drives and syncronizes only the files that have changed.
...........................................................................................
'No' special files formats to fitz with. One drive goes down, I start to use the other while I wait for the other drive to be mailed to me. It was very nice to have that handy two years ago when one drive failed. Oh, and I should also say that being able to unplug one of my USB drives and take it with me is great too. Even if the drive is damaged or stolen in public I don't have to be concerned with loosing more than one day of data.
Cons: I can think of a few ways to make the back door geeky stuff actually more user friendly so the non geeks can get to it. However in most cases the non geeks aren't going to want to fitz with that extra stuff anyhow.
