Imagine you're surfing the Web or playing Temple Run 2 for the umpteenth time. Sometimes in life there are things that deserve full concentration without the needless distractions of phone calls and text messages or anything of that sort. Unfortunately for Android users, a disruptive phone call can mean the difference between life and death (in a game).
Small Call by Apps Falyf thinks it has the solution. The app displays incoming phone calls and texts in a small pop-up widget on your phone instead of interrupting your current activity.
Having a feature like this while using GPS, for example, is especially useful, and one I personally appreciate the most since my smartphone is my main navigation unit.
You can tweak various settings like the opacity of the notification and setting custom text responses at the touch of a button. In testing, performance varied from app to app. While it worked fine for most stock apps like e-mail and maps, performance-intensive games seemed to noticeably freak out a bit or take a ring or two before activating. Apps Falyf actually encourages users to reach out to the respective developers for any related app crashes.
Small Call isn't perfect by any means but when it works, it's an appreciated feature that leaves us wondering why no one came up with it sooner. For 99 cents, it's a useful tweak worth downloading, but be warned that your mileage may also vary.

Pros
Great idea. Hated being bothered when texting and then losing my text. Seems to take that problem away. Ideal for someone like me who works on their phone and is often sending texts instead of making calls. I can't tell you how many times I have lost an important text due to a phone call ( that half the times was not important)

Would like more customized options but other than that can't really think of anything

Was in the middle of composing a very important email for work when I first appreciated how great this app was. Before Small Call I would have been screaming at my phone and truly resenting whoever had the audacity to call me in the middle of my trying to send an email (yes, they should know I'm sending an email and wait to call me LOL). With Small Call a small notification bar appeared at the bottom of the screen and gave me the option of discreetly rejecting` them --they never know I rejected them... they probably think I wasn't near my phone or something :-) -- or replying with a pre-selected text message ("Can't answer now. What's up?" or whatever I have added for the default). Anywho... the bottom line is that I CONTROL MY PHONE and MY PHONE DOES NOT CONTROL ME! I love it!
Cons
Wish they had different skins. Really like to keep my apps color coordinated. ;-)
Summary
The company making Small Call is doing what should have been done years ago! If I wore a hat --which I don't because I wouldn't want mess up my hair :-)--I would take it off to them! Keep up the good work Apps FaLyf (I even like their name!) and I can't wait to see what else you all have up!

There is no other app like this available anywhere for Android devices and it was much needed. I can't tell you how many times I was in the middle of an important email or text and an incoming call took over my screen and totally broke my chain of thought. This app addressed that and I'm so thankful to the developer going where no other developer dared to go!
