Even in the era of MySpace and instant blogs, learning the basics of Web design is useful. SiteSpinner is a site-creation tool aimed at beginners, but with a variety of tools that will help them learn as they work. Its wide range of options is even capable of teaching professionals a few tricks. The interface is a bit cluttered, but well-designed enough to lead new users smoothly through the process of creating relatively complicated pages. Most actions, such as creating an index page, can be triggered simply by clicking the corresponding icon, and then specifying page details such as color of links, header, and background. Navigation inside the program is simple. The program doesn't help with advanced design features such as Cascading Style Sheets, but we definitely recommend it as a quick primer on basic design, and as quick way to get a site off the ground.Publisher's description
From Virtual Mechanics :SiteSpinner is designed to be an all-in-one website creation tool easy enough for beginners, but with powerful features that they can grow into. Its use of industry-standards enables precision drag-and-drop design that lets you position text, graphics, and foreign objects exactly where you want them. Layout enhancements include the ability to easily 'center' a website with the click of a button. With its built-in word processor and spell-checker, advanced layout options and integrated graphics capabilities, it's easy to build professional looking web sites without having to learn HTML. SiteSpinner also includes a Form Editor, the ability to create drop-down navigation menus, and a number of quality Templates to help you get started. Once your site is done, the built-in FTP Publishes your web pages - all files associated with your site are automatically 'gathered up' and uploaded to your webhost.
Version 2.7c may include unspecified updates, enhancements, and bug fixes.

Version: SiteSpinner 2.7c
Pros: Easy to use - their freeware is basically the same thing, without all the bells & whistles.
Cons: resizing of pages in various browsers throws everything off. Pages are limited to 6000 pixels vertical.

"Microsoft Pain -- web edition"
Cons: It reminded me of Microsoft Paint. It seemed to have an interesting idea but didn't quite get there. I couldn't figure out how to use the tables in this program--and I build websites by code!
