"One minor issue can't keep this brilliant software from 5 stars"
Pros: I've been using SiteSpinner over a year. This update is merely polish on an already spectacular program. It's quite simple - if you want to build a web site and don't know HTML very well - this is it. It's one of those rare programs that give you a solid, comfortable and confident feeling when you use it. No bugs, no issues, just powerful performance.
Cons: Issues if you want to edit the HTML directly. Minor issue at best, especially if you're launching a new site.

Version: SiteSpinner 2.7
Pros: As a 75 year old with no HTML knowledge I scoured the net for easy and efficient web-building programmes. This was the first of many I tried that fully met my needs of simplicity and a wide range of features. In less than a week I replaced my old website - done by a professional - with a new and vastly superior site that includes a lot of illustrations, some complex overlays and 20 flash music files. I needed help with the music files at one stage and the ensuing correspondence was speedy and courteous. Ignore the cavils of some other reviewers. If you want a simple and effctive programme try this one.I had used FrontPage before, but this is much easier to deal with.
Cons: The help file is not always as clearly set out or as lucid in its explanations as it might be. The free 12hour site hosting offered for an initial check when you have finished building the sight failed to show the play/stop buttons of my music flash files - hence the correspondence referred to above - and you can't upload revised pages to it. But there are free web-hosting sites around that can be used for trying out revisions.

Version: SiteSpinner 2.7
"Can't import existing web pages"
Pros: The documentation describes SiteSpinner as a code generator - and that is apt. The app has a WYSIWG interface, and you create a page, "publish" it, and the app generates appropriate html. The interface took a few hours to learn, but seems to be fairly complete. I used the template feature to create a good templete for an entire site, which worked well. If you want to combine text and graphics without doing your own coding, this might be perfect. There was a good set of tutorials for learning the major features. I had no complaints with the interface. Also, the html it generates is fairly clean and looks compliant.
Cons: The most serious flaw is that you can't import or edit existing web files. The app only edits files in its own format, and apparently has no import feature. If you have an existing site or page snippet, you can't do anything with it in SS. You would have to recreate the whole thing again. During the "publication" process, real html is generated, but the inability to take html from elsewhere and do anything with it is a big flaw. Another issue is there is no capability for handling PHP scripting.
