    Version: SiteSpinner 2.50f

"A breakthrough in ease of use"

by riredale on February 1, 2005

Pros: Here's the deal. You need to design and build a website. There are lots of ways to build one, from hand-coding in HTML to FrontPage to Dreamweaver to Fusion to ...

Why is SiteSpinner so great? I'll try to give an analogy. Have you ever built an org chart in M/S Word? It's certainly possible, since one can create lines, boxes, and text in Word. But no one would do it, simply because Word is focused on text processing, not on free-form graphic manipulation. You'd probably use PowerPoint instead, right?

Well, the same thing goes for webpage authoring. You could use FrontPage, which is very Word-like (meaning: cumbersome). Or you could use SiteSpinner, which looks and feels much like Powerpoint. Want a box here? Done. Want some text over there? Done. Change something else? Done. It's that easy.

SiteSpinner is not limited to simple stuff. You can get as elaborate as you want, and can also insert chunks of HTML or Javascript code for special functions.

This is a very clever program, and a bargain for the price they charge. A dedicated forum is friendly and very useful, and questions are quickly answered by not only the authors but also by other users.

Cons: Nothing to speak of. Have I mentioned that it's really easy to use?

    "Very simple and powerful"

by ChuckersII on March 22, 2005

Pros: After just a few hours I was able to get the hang of it. It is guite simple to use and yet it can do things that other programs I have tried cannot. The WYSIWYG editor is great for someone like me who knows what they want but doesn't know the HTML to get it.

Cons: Not very many for me. I'm sure more experienced web designers might have plenty, but for a complete novice, this is pretty darn good.

"Does what it says and does it good"

    by Stinger15 on December 7, 2005

Pros: It's very easy to use, it takes no time at all to learn how to use. Maybe some small features will take time to find, but for making a normal site, this program is perfect.

Cons: Some things were limited in advanced web page making. Also, I couldnt seem to find out how to center things.

"Phenomenal ! Does everything and does it with minimal effort!"

    by PDavis109 on February 20, 2005

Pros: I Love the ability to incorporate video, audio, iframes, and animation all in one wysiwyg editor!

Each website deserves it's own special feel, and, with that the Graphics creator adds to the flavor (and for the webmaster - some creativity in what can easily become a tedious chore!)

When you manage, design and create multiple sites, every minute of your time is important. In previous versions, the FTP id/upload info would hold for the site you were working on at the time. But, the minute you changed files to work on another site, the info would need to be redone. Do that for multiple sites and you'll really appreciate the

the new memory reserve for the multiple site upload information! It is the end of hunting through massive notes for secure info to update the client's site asap.

The new templates are great and easily adapted to many sites with the potential of saving yet another step for the experienced and a great place to begin for the beginner!

It seems to me that everyone wants at least one website these days and usually want 2 or 3 for various reasons. So much potential, so little time!

I strongly encourage anyone who wants to put up a site for themselves to get SiteSpinner instead of paying a webmaster to create one for several hundred dollars (or, trying to figure out how to use the "easy" built-in templates that hosts provide - which are limited, bland, and anything but easy!

It's all about time-efficiency and quality for me - and SiteSpinner does it!

I have been using Site Spinner for quite some time and each update simply amazes me! (I have Frontpage 2003, too. Poor thing hardly gets used anymore! )

Cons: It's not what I don't like ... it's what I am waiting for you guys to include in the next update: something like an LView Pro editor with an easy way to crop items using a free motion to enable layering without garbage!

"Excellent, easy to use, wysiwyg web-authoring tool for non-html-ers!"

by Chris Ro on April 10, 2006

Pros: Having used Sitespinner to create a few websites, and knowing no html, I am really impressed with the functionality and versatility of this program. It seems that whatever concept you have in mind for a website, Sitespinner is able to achieve it. And if you are at a loss to know how, (which is not often) the support is fast, friendly, simple, patient and positive. An excellent tool and an excellent team!
