From SiSoftware :SiSoftware Sandra Lite is a 32 and 64-bit Windows system analyzer that includes benchmarking, testing, and listing modules. It tries to go beyond other utilities to show you more of what is really going on under the hood so you draw comparisons at both a high and low-level in a single product. You can get information about the CPU, chipset, video adapter, ports, printers, sound card, memory, network, Windows internals, AGP, ODBC Connections, and USB2.
Adds support for newly released hardware devices (CPUs, chipsets, hardware monitor chips, phones, and PDAs). Version XI.SP1a has official support for Vista RTM. Updated hardware support.

Version: SiSoftware Sandra Lite XI.SP1a
"If you help friends fix their PCs, this will give you a snapshot"
Pros: Gives you a snapshot of the machine faster than opening up the case, and can spot and help diagnose problems (hot spots, potential bios conflicts,...) very quickly. It won't do everything, but it's free, fast, and I've never found it to be wrong
Cons: You need to have a moderate to high knowledge of what you are looking at. This is not a utility that's going to help the truly casual computer user (though it might give you pointers on what to research and learn about)

Pros: Provides, as a byproduct, a checklist of things one would want to investigate to improve performance, power management, and security.
Cons: Most of the information provided was incorrect, including CPU & motherboard temperatures. Tips were either inaccurate, absurd, or self-evident. I was unable to install the 2009 SP2 upgrade on my PC ("could not install driver").
Summary: This is for the 2009 Sandra Lite product, without the SP2 upgrade, which I was unable to uninstall on my PC, even after a thorough uninstall of the previous version and disabling all open applications that it was possible to disable. Temperature rea... read more >>
