Publisher's Description
From AutoBAUP:
Second Backup is an easy-to-use file backup and sync tool, it can archive multiple versions backed up copies for different time (for example, the first copy for Monday is 'Backup_1', the second copy for Tuesday is 'Backup_2'). Automatically backup your important data (includes opening/using files and folders) to external hard drive, USB disk, network, and other storage device. Intuitive interface makes it easy to use, simply tell it which file or folder to backup, where and when to archive them, then it works reliably in the background and uses very little system resources. The backup task can be directed only copy the new or modified files, it monitors the source files and automatically backups the new or changed file to the destination. Automatic scheduling includes specific days of the week, days of the month, hours of the day, or any desired time intervals. E-mail notification lets you know the file backup status anytime and anywhere.

"Would rate zero stars out of five"
Version: Second Backup Free Edition 9.8.15
Pros
I didn't use it that long to find any.
Cons
Too convoluted to add subfolders. Not very intuitive. I found Backup Maker to be a much better free for personal use product. I also like Backer from Leanware.

"FREE OR NOT FREE ???"
Version: Second Backup Free Edition 9.8.15
Pros
Excellent program. Did the networking backing up, the compare.... I was looking for a program that will allow the source to be somewhere in the network and not necessarily local...Had no problem with second backup at all. From network to network.
Cons
I am not crazy about the interface. I think it could have been friendlier and better looking.
I am not crazy at all about the false advertising. Apparently what you get is a 30 days trial only...Summary
I love that program. Too bad that the false advertising makes me look elsewhere. It does deserve a 4 stars at least...

"Awesome Product!"
Version: Second Backup Free Edition 9.8.15
Pros
Makes an exact copy of your file folder structure, no proprietary cipher files that are unusable without the application. The compare function is also a great feature
Cons
The purchase process is a little clunky
Summary
If you want to back up your stuff, and compare two folders and sync them up, this is you program. Fast, easy and trouble-free

"Solid product, very affordable, uncertain about free"
Version: Second Backup Free Edition 9.8.15
Pros
The most no-nonsense backup program ever, providing many features with a simple interface. I use it most to mirror folders/drives and only changed files get copied so it is fast. With backups on external drives, this is the most convenient way to go.
Cons
There are free backup products out there but I haven't used SecondCopy free edition AND WOULDN'T WANT TO if it removes features from the $30 standard version. So the downside of using this free version is that YOU'RE WAY TO CHEAP - buy the real deal!
Summary
If you really need the security of knowing your data is safe and you don't want to spend a lot, go and pay for a real copy of SecondCopy. I've used it for years (10) and it hasn't failed me while other systems costing hundreds time more did. I love it and it works the way I think. It is not a partition or image based approach so don't expect that. Bottom line, FAST, SIMPLE, AFFORDABLE. Get a real copy!

"now does not work."
Version: Second Backup Free Edition 9.8.15
Pros
works OK for 30 days.
Cons
Can't be altered after 30 days. used a memory stick and the backup drive letter changed. Now Second backup can't find the drive and slows the PC to a crawl. Have had to disable it. Will now look for something else.

It contains keyloggers. Never download it !!!!!!!!!!!

"Only allows back up of a single directory tree or file"
Version: Second Backup Free Edition 9.8.15
Pros
Didn't bother using since file selection not flexible at all.
Cons
Only allows you to back up a single directory tree or file. Can't select exactly which trees and files you want to back up.
Summary
Maybe this is okay if you only want to back up one directory tree, but it's not for me.

"very straight-forward to set up and use."
Version: Second Backup Free Edition 9.8.15
Pros
very easy to use even for beginners
Cons
none I can think of
Summary
Excellent

"Free. It works. Easy to use."
Version: Second Backup Free Edition 9.8.15
Pros
I have three desktops (2 XP, 1 Vista) all with shared drives within my network. I use Second Backup to backup everything "I have access to" to an external hardrive connected by wire to one of the XP desktops.
Cons
I have the access point above in quotes because on the Vista desktop, and now on the Vista laptop I just backed up using this utility, many of my folders' permissions were altered making users unable to access multiple folders within their profiles.
Summary
Pros:
Free, works on my network of Vista and XP computers, easy to use interface (really simple).
Cons:
Why did my Vista computers have security permissions changed after running this utility the first time? Really strange. This was the only reason I didn't give it five stars. Would also be nice to get an estimated time remaining for the job. -
