The SearchPerks promotion rewards users for their Web searches within Internet Explorer Web browser, version 6.0 or higher, on Microsofts Windows Live, MSN or Live Search properties. In return for participating in the promotion, youll accumulate tickets that can be redeemed for prizes. In order to reward you for the searches you do, youll need to download the Perk Counter. The Perk Counter is software that counts the number of Web searches you do on different search engines; the types of searches you complete (e.g.: news, images or shopping); the number of ads you click on, and which search toolbars are installed on the computer. The Perk Counter doesnt record search terms you use, websites you visit or content of the ads you click on. The Perk Counter will send your search data to Microsoft on a daily basis. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Basically, I calculated the maximum number of "tickets" you can get (25 max per day, for 163 days until the end of this promotion). The maximum is 4575 tickets. The only decent prizes (like gears of war) require over 5000 tickets. Microsoft puts them there to brag about good prizes, yet they aren't even possible to get. Even so, who actually uses Live search? You're bound to miss a few days for things like "forgetting" or "going on vacation", thus making it so that you cannot get a prize. This promotion is absolutely useless and I advise you not to download it.
