This Microsoft Outlook plug-in works in scanning for and alerting you to potential phishing e-mails, but it may return false positives. Upon installation, you'll find buttons for Scam Sensor for Outlook on your Outlook toolbar. The application scans all e-mails in your in-box for phishing attacks, which are legitimate-looking e-mails that attempt to lure you to bogus sites to enter personal information. If the application detects dubious content, it will display one of two messages before you open the mail. The phishing alert is the more serious message and is sent when the application spots common phishing techniques in an e-mail. The suspicious e-mail message serves as a warning of a possible forged e-mail, but in our tests, the message appeared on legitimate e-mails. You can use the Check Now button to scan individual messages. Scam Sensor for Outlook has a 25-day trial and is useful in preventing Outlook users from divulging personal information.Publisher's description
