"Unusable in 64-bit Vista"
Version: Sayvoice Text to Speech Reader 4.0
Pros
Nice interface.
Cons
Non-functional under 64-bit Vista. Terrible translation engine.
Summary
Even though some 15 SAPI4 and SAPI5 voices have been installed in my Vista x64 system, Sayvoice recognized nonje of them, showing no voices installed. Also, its' 'translate" feature produced totally ridiculous results, when I tried to translate sentences from English to French (I happen to speak both those languages). Google translation is much, much better.

"LOUSY PROD AND POOR UNRESPONSIVE SUPPORT!"
Version: Sayvoice Text to Speech Reader 3.89
Pros
NO PROS AT ALL
Cons
BOGUS COMPANY WITH ALL THE AWARDS AND ACCOLADES..cos SOFTWARE DOESNT WORK AT ALL AFTER PAYING THE $$. REFUSED TO GIVE REFUND THOUGH SOFTWARE DOESNT WORK. ASK ME TO BUY NEW O/S JUST TO SUIT THEIR SOFTWARE. SIMPLY RIDICULOUS COMPANY !
Summary
Writing to WARN others to beware about this company. The product doesnt work and is the same as the trial copy after getting the license. After purchasing then email is sent to tell u that this doesnt work with vista and there is a pre-recording message prior to translation etc etc. The sound voices do not belong to this company and their software doesnt work at all...cannot convert and cant save to MP3 !!
No refund given even though it is proven that it cant work on my system after trying. No telephone support as they are afraid of complains I believe and email support is SLOW !!
DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME !! : ( -
"It works nice, has own browser for text to speech,"
Version: Sayvoice Text to Speech Reader 3.89
Pros
It works pretty good. I opened a txt (text) file and it displayed it on the left side. I selected the language and it translated it pretty quickly. I selected text on a webpage and it pronounced it well. It saved text to mp3 quickly.
Cons
It only opens txt (text) files for translations. I had to save a word file as a rich text or txt file to be able to open it in the program. The translation on the right side does not have the spaces like on the original text (all the text together).
Summary
I loved the product. It just needs the functionality of opening more types of files than just text. The translation should keep the formating of the original text. The voice used is the Microsoft Merlin. I did not see choices for more voices, but I have to use it more to see if it has the option, but it doubt it. The trial is short.
It opens two text boxes side by side. The original text is on the left side and the translation is placed on the right side but crowded together. The program is pretty easy to use.
