Publisher's Description
From Tzuk:
When you browse the Web, changes occur to your computer system. Some harmless, like recording the addresses of Web sites you have visited, so the browser can help you complete a Web address that you type in. Some more harmful, like the unsolicited installation of malware. When you use Sandboxie to protect your browsing session, it catches all these changes just as the browser is about to apply them into your computer system. Sandboxie does record these changes on behalf of the browser, but it records them in a special isolated folder, called the sandbox. Thus, with Sandboxie, you can browse the Web securely while still keeping all your browser's functionality for active and dynamic content, such as Javascript and ActiveX. All undesired side effects, including the removal of malware, can be easily undone.

"Very interesting software! Great first line of defense"
Version: Sandboxie 3.26
Pros
Completely separates whats inside the sandbox from the rest of your computer. Easy to run apps sandboxed, and this thing really works! Its also great for a easy 'erase all your tracks online' when you run a browser sandboxed.
Cons
None that I can tell so far.
Summary
Very neat application. This thing really works, and you can even install software inside the sandbox without it even effecting the rest of your system. For example, if I run Firefox sandboxed, and install a bunch of add-ons, well if I bring up Firefox not sandboxed, everything I installed will not be there. But when I bring up the sanboxed Firefox (if I didn't delete the sandbox) everything will be there. Its completely separated from the rest of the computer.
If you are concerned about your computer security, or are just extra paranoid about viruses, spyware, adware..or anything else. Try out Sandboxie. Because the sandbox method is totally unique, because it actually tricks whatever is in the sandbox that its interacting with the rest of the computer, when in reality it is not. And it provides a very good first line of defense for anything malicious trying to infest your computer. If you ever suspect you have a virus, and always ran your browser sandboxed...just delete the sandbox and bye bye virus.
Also on a side note, this also works great as a easy online tracks eraser. Because if you run a browser sandboxed...everything you do (and I mean everything) will remain in the sandbox. So just delete the sandbox, and it deletes all the cookies, internet traces, log files, downloads (if you opt to keep them in the sandbox)...literally everything. And it's as easily as that.
Give it a try, if anything, its fun to mess around with. -
"Excellent Security Program!"
Version: Sandboxie 3.26
Pros
Very powerful protection
Cons
Nothing wrong with it
Summary
Offers phenomenal protection if used properly - I always use Sandboxie and I also scan with around a dozen different signature scanners. All they ever detect is false positives.

"Simple but brilliant"
Version: Sandboxie 3.26
Pros
Surf with absolute freedom knowing any rubbish is trapped in the sandbox. If you take some time to configure you can stop unwanted and potentially malicious programmes/files that come with browser/P2P activity you have trapped in the sandbox from executing or connecting to the internet and when you restart you application they are gone. You can save files etc you need to your 'real' folders.
Cons
The GUI is not brilliant. You need to pay if you want to 'force' applications to start sandboxed and the best way to configure is to edit the config file which might be difficult for some.

"Free but very powerful"
Version: Sandboxie 3.26
Pros
Very powerful sandboxing application, as good as or better than Norman ASA's sandbox (and Norman ASA is a leader in the sandboxing industry).
Cons
Extra features cost 30$.

"must have for any P2P down-loader!!! a+"
Version: Sandboxie 3.26
Pros
ok.. this software will allow you to install your downloaded apps/ISO/ backup-movies..perhaphs..(many with Trojans and viruses in the keygens,(they are everywhere!) and they never get to the OS or registry. you see them and can delete them but still install and use the 'useful' part of your download. there are much better explanations on the web..
think about it.. some virus software out the is crap, and won't stopor even see trojans and Russian back-door server break-in code. and you'll never know till it's too late. and you just paid for a jet ski in Miami for a vacationing hacker, because they got into your Paypal account.(Don't laugh..it happened to me.)..
Cons
User interface is lame. It should have MORE info and stuff to click..but otherwise it is great!!
