Apple has published a Windows version of their native browser. No, the sky has not fallen and we have yet to see the spontaneous evolution of avian bacon.
What we do have is a major software publisher porting their once mono-platform browser with strong results. Much like iTunes, the Windows version of the Mac application works fine but lacks a certain tightness. It feels unfinished because it is.
Safari lacks most customization features. Skins and other aesthetic options exist in the Mac version, but not here. Hopefully that feature will come later. Just about the only thing you can alter is the font. Toolbar icons can be swapped, but the Customize option is only accessible from the Menu bar. If you like right-clicking your way to a shapelier browser, Safari's going to make you feel fat and ugly.
Safari does load pages quickly and didn't have any problems rendering Flash, although it crashed several times on Vista while processing Java. It's a memory sink, too, sometimes using three times as much RAM as Firefox when more than a couple tabs were opened. Tab sessions are savable--well, they would be savable, if the Reopen All Windows option under History worked. The built-in Roboform is buggy, and although there are plenty of extensions for the Mac Safari, that functionality hasn't been ported over.
Having a Safari engine to work with is a great boon for developers. For the average user, though, we'd recommend taking your browser hunt to more familiar grounds.

Version: Safari 3.2.1
"Good, Secure, Moderate Speed"
Pros: Safer than IE in Windows, and on OS X integrates better into the OS than Mozilla.
Cons: Not as fast as Apple claims. On OS X 10.5 I used Camino as Safari tends to render slower. Small fonts don't look very good with the browser font renderer.
Summary: Very good browser on both platforms, but the speed may be over-rated. A good working browser I would definitely use it as an IE replacement.

"okay but not as fast as what they claim"
Pros: it okays okay, maybe on mac. but no different from I.E in term of speed ,not as fast as what the owner claim.
Cons: I install on my XP platform, It sucks , very very slow. I still prefer Opera ,2nd firefox and I.E. Opera is fastest especially watching on- line movies even when internet connection is bad
Summary: last week, our internet connectiion was bad, very slow. I install safari. It is no better than I.E. I am using on XP Platform. Opera is still the fastest.

Version: Safari 3.2.1
Pros: Unlike the editor, my "Reopen All Windows option" worked fine. Speed is good and memory usage is more than acceptable. (My FF can use a LOT depending on the number of tabs and sites accessed.) Good alternate and easier to adapt to then Opera
Cons: Yup. Feels unfinished. Miss my FF add-ons. Will stay with Firefox and Opera for the time being.
Summary:
Since my original posting I have begun having problems with the "Reopen All Windows" option. All of the tabs will open in the window as in the past, however only the bookmarks and... read more >>

"I think Safari is a very good browser."
Pros: Great graphics, readable bold lettering.
Cons: Occasionally, Safari will freeze and I will have to close it out. Otherwise, it's very good.
Summary: I recommend Safari. I wish, however, there were some addons like what Firefox has.
