I paid extra for a lifetime updated product. They specifically said I would never have to buy again. They have recently started charging a subscription, for get this $65.99 per month, to get updates. They will not honor the purchase I made. I am not the only one, there are other people making this same complaint.
Founnd malware that AVG, AVAST and Macafee did not after months of scans with other software, I decided to give up and just download Ad Aware after a friend told me it helped him get rid of trojans that were slowing down his machine and remained undetected with Windows Defender. Ad Aware caught 7 suspicious files that have been on my computer this whole time without me knowin !! God knows that information they were after. Removal was quick and easy and I run a deep scan at least once every 2 days now to make sure i'm always on point!
The con is that I didn't know Ad Aware even existed before.
Installs TuneupMyMac, which does nothing except prompt you to pay even if you uncheck all the boxes. If you click Install with "Express Install" selected, it sets all your default search engines and home pages to yahoo all at once, and installs Extensions by Spigot as well.
Does not even help with controlling the fan, at least not for OS X 10.9.4
Terrible. I had thought that CNET was a reputable brand and trustworthy site to download software but I guess I was very wrong. After this experience I now know better than to trust CNET or CBS Interactive, whoever is running this.
Everything worked very well for me in the beginning until they required payment or force you to download their suggested apps.
After a week or so, I got a pop-up asking me to pay $2/month or to download the 2 suggested daily apps. Forcing you to download unwanted app or paying 2 bucks a month is not free in my book. I uninstalled Bluestacks.
Apps advertised as completely free should be that, with no strings attached. This app would be more accurate and honest if it was described as a "free trial". Dont bother unless you want to pay for it.
