With the Net now long into its multimedia age, audio and video software is a basic part of every computer desktop. Rosoft Media Player is a small entry in that field, offering the ability to play most audio and video formats. However, we find it difficult to recommend given the presence of so many powerful and free competitors. The interface isn't immediately straightforward--tiny icons lack explanatory captions, and we had to play with the program for some time before discovering how to queue individual files instead of playlists. Its basic functions work well, but it has a few quirks such as the need to trigger a second window to play video, and a song's entire path displaying in the audio player rather than simply the song and artist name. It does provide the ability to shuffle tracks and edit ID3 tags, but lacks a graphic equalizer, a burner, a file format converter, and other similar extras. Considering the number of free jukeboxes vying for consumer attention, we think most users could do better.
Rosoft Engineering proudly presents Rosoft Media Player, a true media player that plays any file as long as you have the right ACM codec installed on your computer. Rosoft Media Player uses the MCI interface to decode files, and it's easy to use.
