From Rosoft Engineering :

Rosoft CD Extractor Bronze Edition converts your audio CDs to WAV or MP3 files. You can select from a wide range of audio formats, record part of a track, and download information from FreeDB, the main database for audio CD information on the Net. As a bonus this download also comes with Rosoft Audio Recorder and Rosoft Audio Converter.

The recorder adds a mixer control so you can select input source such as line-in, rec-in. You can set the input volume as well as the output volume on your sound card. The mixer operates directly on your sound card's driver. The major update with release 4 is that it now includes a demo version of Rosoft MP3 Encoder PlugIn that is licensed by Fraunhofer and Thomson.
