  Version: Rohos Mini Drive 1.16

  "Best for practical usage"

  Pros: hides the folder in flash drive and user may also put the exctractor file anywhere in the halsh drive, so when the flash disc is lost, stolen etc. there will be no track of a hidden folder.

  It asks for password for opening the hidden virtual drive and one you open it you can disconnect with one click easily. It does not ask for password every time you open and hide the folder.

  It does not require anything (perhaps only an regular OS) in the computer to be inserted the flash disk.

  Cons: The program that icreates the virtual drive and the program installed in the flash drive to open the virtual driveare alike. This may be confusing. The program installed on the computer is used only once. After it creates the virtual drive, there is no need to it. User goes on with the exe file installed the flash drive.

  "Buyer Beware!"

  Pros: After one strange crash on my first attempt, the program worked well, but it only works if you have full admin rights on every computer that you use it on. This will not be the case with internet cafes and hotel computers.

  Cons: Their home page clearly states:

  "NEW Doesn't require Administrator Privileges to open password protected USB drive partition!"

  -- This is not true. They have a special program that gives read-only access to files - but does not give access to the drive partition, ie there is no way to access the files with a file path or drive letter. If you require read-only access to files that you will deal with one at a time, then this may somehow work for you. Otherwise, you would have to copy all of your files onto the hard drive or the unencrypted drive portion.

  The installed help makes no mention of this limitation, but if you dig enough on the website and know what to look for, you will find it.

  This screwed up my computer usage plans while on vacation last week, and they are refusing to issue a refund. They say they will only issue a refund if it does not work as described (as stated in their latest broken English email to me: "Regarding the refund. We make refund in case the program doesn't work."). Rest assured it doesn't, and to top it off, their order page clearly states:

  "30-day money-back guarantee. If for some reason you are not satisfied with the program, you can return program for a full refund."

  AVOID THIS PROGRAM AND THIS COMPANY!
