River Past Video Cleaner uses standard Microsoft DirectShow components as its foundation, with our own Pulse Regulator technology to streamline the timecode. We guarantee the compatibility of the encoded video, and often it is the only way to fix out-of-sync problems in some videos.
We understand that there are a lot of Mac users in the video editing field, with a collection of QuickTime MOV videos. You want to transfer them to a DVD-Video, but no DVD authoring software on Windows would accept MOV files. for what took 5+ hours on my high end pc to convert a mkv file to mp4 which shouldnt have even lead to a complete re encode of the video portion since i was converting to mp4 which was the format in the mkv...the result was garbage. a pixelated mess with incoherent audio. one of the most useless apps ive tried in a while. and yes i had the mpeg 4 add on installed along with current copy of quicktime and the cccp package.

none. not a single thing. I only gave them 1 star because this system won't allow zero stars.

they sing the praises of Mac all over their site, then send you an MS-DOS file that will only work on a PC. multiple queries to customer service for a Mac version went unanswered, and the subsequent refund requests have been ignored.

River Past appear to have gone out of business, and are no-longer replying to emails (not response in over 6 months).
May be surpassed by other applications now.

I purchased "Video Cleaner" a couple of years ago to help me keep my video file collection in a single format, the software served me well for 18+ months.
Now however other tools have surpassed Video Cleaner in areas of performance and features. Meanwhile River Past themselves appear to have ceased trading and have closed the user forum, are no-longer responding to emails and there have been no software updates in about 12 months. -

This is a full internet scam, you will receive a link and may receive a passcode but all that will happen is that the software you receive will waste most of your day, and you will be $29.95 worse off.
Summary
I have never managed to get the software to work. I have emailed on 10 different occasions the company RiverPast and they have never responded. Leave well alone and make sure you spread the word if others may be tempted, these companies should not be allowed to exist and should at least be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

My version is 7.2.9. This has never let me down. All conversions has completed successfully, this is nearly professional tool in its reliability.

Reliable, versatile, no-nonsense converter- supports really many formats. Well worth the price. You just can't go and compare this to "free tools" because this is so much simplier and easier to use, also this is much more reliable.

This company takes your money and will not send an activation code for the software. You can send all the e-meil messages you want to customer service . . . they never reply.
Avoid these rip-off artists unless you just want to lose your money.

"TOO MUCH Trouble..."

It needed so many extra 3rd party filters to be installed and then they DID NOT seem to work with the program. After 1 hour of not getting this software to work, I just gave up and uninstalled it..
