You have full control over video and audio codecs, which are loaded dynamically. Supported video codecs include Cinepak, DivX, DV, Motion JPEG, Microsoft Video 1, XviD, and Indeo 3, 4, and 5. You can ajdust video quality, video size, frame rate, audio codec, sample rate, channel, and bit rate. If you have videos that cause audio- and video-syncing problems when recording to DVD, use River Past Video Cleaner to clean up the time code. It also can be used to convert between NTSC and PAL. Pros: I like that it can convert video formats and not be such a huge, bulky program. Straight forward steps to simply convert (pick file, pick format, convert).
Cons: It keeps crashing on me when I convert videos. Some quality is lost in converting. Converstions could be more explained. I am going to try their latest version 6.12 today.

Pros: It is really easy to use, very good graphics, user-friendly
Cons: i tried converting a 10 MB WMV file to an AVI file, but after conversion, it was an enormous 5 GB +++ file already...

"A good tool, but... (v6.7.1)"
Pros: Clean interface, good output quality, option to basic video edition (crop the size or duration).
Cons: RPVC doesn't detect and isolate conversion errors: if there's a problematic file doesn't skip it, remains 'converting' it for always (only enlarges the remaining time).
