This recovery program retrieves corrupted files from most media, but only saves a list of files the registered program would recover. The program interface is a single button and results screen. You click the button to start the program. There are no options to set. You can't recover anything less than the entire media. For example there is no option to recover a single corrupt directory. Rite Recovery recovers files on damaged DVDs, CDs, floppy disks, ZIP drives, but not flash drives or certain NTFS partitions. The user is required to enter a target folder for the files to be recovered, but it must be on other writeable media. The software restores and preserves the complete folder tree structure including subfolders, retrieves files, supports long file names, and reads localized file names. This demo version succeeded in recovering and saving file names, but users must purchase the registered version for full file recovery. All users can easily use this simple program, but advanced users will miss the ability to select files to recover.Publisher's description

The application supports NTFS, FAT32, FAT16, FAT12, and VFAT12. CDFS and UDF support for both multipartitioned and single-partitioned disks is provided. The software restores the complete folder tree structure including subfolders, retrieves files, supports long file names, and reads localized file names.
