This is a handy tool for those who often re-enter information at voting and sweepstakes Web sites, but it forces users to set Internet Explorer as their default browser. Rimshot's simple interface sits beside Internet Explorer to add options and shortcuts while surfing with the browser. The program's Help file failed to load as instructed for some testers. However, most users will need little direction to use this app.
The program stays open and enabled as you surf, but only comes into play when requested. You build a list of shortcuts to pages you visit frequently. It's easy to add a page to the list with a click. Each shortcut includes helpful user-saved information such as contest start and end dates, notes, and total entries made. Most helpful is a reminder function to notify the user to make a new entry at that page daily, weekly, or monthly. As you enter information on a page, Rimshot stores the information and can automatically fill in the information when you return to the site. This saves considerable time on some sites.
We didn't like the program's inability to correctly operate when Internet Explorer is not the default browser. That problem aside, IE users who enter many sweepstakes, or visit similar Web sites, will appreciate the time-saving Rimshot.
Publisher's description
From Liverworks :Rimshot was created specifically for rapid-entry of on-line sweepstakes, but will fill in any HTML-based Web page. It supports up to five profiles and cannot be detected by the Website being filled in because you are the one who clicks the 'submit' button. Use Rimshot to rapidly fill in all fields on any Web page. As you visit Web pages and fill in fields, Rimshot records your entries. Any time you return to a Web page, Rimshot will automatically fill in all fields for you. The more Web pages you fill in, the better Rimshot gets. Soon, Rimshot will be completely filling in Web pages when you visit them for the first time.
