Publisher's description
From Farstone Technology :Retrieve lost or deleted files. Accidentally delete or overwrite an important file? Don't worry. RestoreIT lets you instantly restore a lost file back to its previous state or roll back your entire system to the last time the PC worked. Restore from a virus attack or Windows crash. Has a computer virus ever crashed your system? Many restore programs will work as long as you can access Windows desktop icons. But what if Windows crashes and will not start? You're stuck reinstalling everything. With RestoreIT, that problem doesn't exist because everything you need to restore your system can still be accessed at the DOS level. Back up your computer's hard drive. While anti-virus software and firewalls protect against most threats, no protection works 100% of the time. RestoreIT lets you make a backup copy of your entire hard drive in a protected partition of the hard drive or on a CD or DVD in case of emergency.
Important: Please defragment your hard drive before installing.

Version: RestoreIT 6.0
Pros: None
Cons: Garbage and bulky. After a while the errors started showing their ugly heads. Got to a point where my xp machine was so screwed up I had to restore with norton ghost. I am not an idiote when it comes to computers and can assure you if it failed me, it will do the same for you.
If you dont have your machine backed up, then, get out your format gear cause your gonna need it. I give this one one finger up. (The middle one)

Version: RestoreIT 6.0
"You will lose all your data by using RestoreIT!"
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: I installed this product and I wasn't able to create a "Complete Restore Point" and save to the RIT partition that RestoreIT created (using the default size RestoreIT recommended) because there was not enough space. I wanted to resize the partition but restoreit offerred no options for this, so I attempted to uninstall RestoreIT to have restoreit delete it's own partition and start over, with a larger partition. The software restarted my system and I haven't been able to boot it back up since.

Version: RestoreIT 6.0
"Very useful for those to whom system crashes are routine"
Pros: It has everything Farstone, it is quick and simple. Since it resides b/w the BIOS and OS, you can recover from every imaginable crash as long as your hardware is unaffected. I performed a fresh installation of windows and made a restore point. Don't have to take hrs reinstalling windows anymore, all you have to do is restore the backup in 2mins and everything is a as good as new.
Cons: The biggest flaw is that if you want to update to a newer version, you'll have to un-install the existing one, which means you will lose all your backup points. I still use RestoreIT 3 beacause I've got a numerous of critical restore points in it, there's no way u can upgrade without losing all your backup data.
