Remote Administrator

Publisher's Description

From Famatech:

Remote Administrator (Radmin) is fast, secure and affordable remote-control software that enables you to work on a remote computer in real time as if you were sitting in front of it. This program is the ideal remote-control and remote-access solution. The remote computer screen appears in a separate window on your screen. You can remotely access the same computer from multiple places and use advanced file transferring, remote shutdown, and Telnet.

Radmin uses strong 128-bit data encryption for all data streams. It also supports an OS-integrated NT security system with NTLMv2 support. It also includes smart protection from password guessing and DOS attacks, IP filtering, and other security features. This product can be used for help-desk and network-management needs in small, medium, and large corporate networks. Radmin is optimized for high- and low-bandwidth connections.

"Must have if you are seroius in remote desktop networking"

    July 13, 2006  |   By bogi4

    Version: Remote Administrator 2.2

    Pros

Good speed over slow internet connections, great speed over LAN. Communication is always encrypted. Stable, good an reliable. Very small internet transfer between client and server when idling...

    Cons

There are not much customizable options for connection like VNC. No option to disable encryption. Mouse is tracked only localy so cursor doesn't change shape when you want to enlarge remote windows horizontally or vertically...

    "Perfect companion for the administrator"

    May 13, 2006  |   By kkurgan

    Version: Remote Administrator 2.2

    Pros

    Works exactly as it should!

    Cons

Can't wait for the next release, which will have text and voice chatting support so that the administrator can talk to the end user before taking control of the PC.

"Radmin supports 'silent installation', runs only as a service, fast, easy to use"

    March 27, 2006  |   By RemSysAdm

    Version: Remote Administrator 2.2

    Pros

I am the network administrator in a medium size company (119 PCs). Why do I choose Radmin? Radmin is fast, secure and easy to use. Radmin supports 'silent installation' and runs only as a service (i.e. no headache with users' casual activities). Also we have several PCs with Windows 98 & NT 4.0 for special purposes - Radmin supports these operating systems. And one more thing that helps me from time to time - Radmin Viewer doesn't need to be installed, so it works fine even from a USB flash drive.

    Cons

The phone book in v.2.2 has no folders - all entries are stored in one list. But this problem is already solved in new Radmin Viewer 3.0 Beta. It works fine, without any lags. I use it for almost 2 years.

"Solid product, works well but too old !"

    November 16, 2005  |   By alonsabi

    Version: Remote Administrator 2.2

    Pros

Easy to use, stable and fast. But read the cons.

    Cons

You are promised to get future versions for free when buying the license, the only problem is there was no update in the last 4 years (2.1 and 2.2 are the very same). They promised V3.0 3 years ago, and every few months they move the deadline. If you buy this product , buy it with no expectations for upgrades.

    1. Does not show "real" mouse state on the remote PC.

    2. Does not support multi monitors (most don't).

    3. Have some CPU issues with win 2000, need to lower the refresh rate.

    4. Was designed for windows NT 4.0 ...

"One time purchase and no monthly fees!"

    November 2, 2005  |   By Teddy Bennett

    Version: Remote Administrator 2.2

    Pros

I bought Radmin 2 years ago (it was version 2.1). Now I use version 2.2 (the upgrade is free!) and according to the license policy there are no monthly fees. I think it's great when you don't need to worry about any fees using the software of that kind. No monthly fees - no headache!

PS: Another great thing is a free upgrade to version 3.0 (and no monthly fees as usual).

    "Good choice for corporate usage."

    October 3, 2005  |   By saint_ruger

    Version: Remote Administrator 2.2

    Pros

Radmin is easy to install on wide corporate nets using a simple logon script. It's small yet powerful tool for remote administration and helpdesk. High security level (encryption for all data, NT Security support, IP filtration, self-testing code defense) makes it the best choice for me and my company.
