Publisher's description
From Rose City Software :Tired of Windows crashing? Sick of having software lock up on you or taking forever to load? It could be incorrect registry entries caused by software installations and uninstallations. Not all software uninstallations do a complete job, leaving behind numerous nagging file references in the Windows Registry pointing to files that no longer exist. You can end up with hundreds of these files that may slow down your computer and cause software to lock up, requiring a hard reboot. If you've moved your programs from one drive to another, you can break the links a program needs. Registry First Aid will find these files and folders and help you correct the registry entries that point to them.
Version 3.4 includes the ability to check paths containing environment variables for existence and to search the Internet for invalid registry key information in one mouse click, and an open-backup-folder menu item.

Version: Registry First Aid 3.4
"Brilliant: Better than major market heavy hitters."
Pros: Very thorough in finding orphaned files and all invalid registry associations. Gives the most plausible correct associations, if available, but allows a user to change the associations (necessary in only a very few cases) to more valid choices, as well as to delete or ignore them.
Serves a great need well, since PC OSs and their file systems are yet unable to repair automatically (or manually in an intelligent way) broken associations and other registry errors....

Version: Registry First Aid 3.4
"Excellent Product that vastly increases performance"
Pros: Used it very successfully on my WIN98 for a couple of years. Now running new version on my XP PRO. I am amazed how messed up the registry becomes over time and how it affects performance. The $21 for the full version is worth every penny.

Summary: I have been using it for a couple of weeks now with WinXP sp2. No crashes, no problems. The evaluation version actually does something besides telling you to buy the product after it found the errors, but it only deletes a few entries. I'm going to ... read more >>

"Pay no attention to the negative comments below!"
Summary: I've been running this software for 6 months or so, and I love it! Unlike the people below who seem to be too cheap to pay the whopping $21, I actually bought the full program. Trust me, it is well worth it. I like to think that I know a decent amou... read more >>
