Recuva Portable recovers files of all kinds that have been lost or deleted from your computer, iPod, or media card. It can even recover files lost to viruses, and its intuitive interface makes it a quick and painless process.
As soon as you install Recuva, you're ready to recover files. There is a wizard that will guide you through the process of searching for and recovering files by asking you what type of files you'd like to search for and where you'd like to search. For instance, you can search for documents, pictures, video, music, or all files, and you can specify the location that the files were deleted from, or you can choose "not sure" and let the app scan the whole system.
The free version of Recuva contains all of the features of the paid versions, but it doesn't have any support at all. All of the online help links open ads, and to access the priority support, you need to purchase a business membership for $34.95. There is also a professional option, which is recommended for home users and costs $24.95. If you know what you're doing, the free version is probably fine for you. Advanced users would probably be fine with the free version, but anyone who needs a little help getting started would either have to pay or find an alternative program.
Recuva Portable is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses.
