Pros

I have used several versions of this software in the past.Gives me confidence that they update their product and it actually gets better and better without including useless 'features' that you don't need. Recovered my formatted external drive easily.

"PRODUCT WOKS AS ADVERTISED"

Pros

Software did exactly what I needed it to do, recovered files,JPEG, my computer crashed and lost all files. OS is Vista, so I ran a Recovery Manager to get computer to operate. Recover My Files is an easy to use software, downloaded from the internet without one problem.

Cons

NONE- this program just saved me a ton of money and apologies that I would have had to give!

"Scanned Resultat Almost Equivalent to Virtual Labs"

Filer Result List is slightly better than Virutal Lab

Summary

Beware! Bought this software at an on-line dealer as recommended by an earlier reviewer, ie.at RegNow, but the licensed key given couldn't activate the programme. Now regretted buying from them and has open a Paypal trade dispute with the said dealer.

"Great for recovering files from a formatted drive"

Pros

It's easy to use, and does a very good job of finding files on a drive that has been reformatted.

Cons

The drive scanning phase can take hours on a large drive, but really, who cares how long it takes if you're able to get your files back?

Summary

I've used this on multiple occasions to recover files from a formatted hard drive. Compared to other similar utilities I've tried, this one seems to find a lot more recoverable files.

"Works well; takes a long time"

Pros

-Salvages data from a disc that is unreadable in windows and linux
-Prioritizes the file types the users wants, can ignore the rest
-Is effective and fairly user-friendly

Cons

-Takes a LONG time (500GB 5400 RPM drive took over 24 hours)
-Tends to visually hang while operating, giving the impression that it couldn't continue when it could
-Not asthetically pleasing (if you care about that sort of thing)
-free trial will detect files but not recover them
-Loses access to recovered files if computer is put to sleep, requiring a restart of the whole process

Summary

All in all I'm pleased with this software. I've never used data recovery software before and while I had heard of sotware that was supposedly better and faster (Digital Rescue Premium -TopTenReviews) this is the best software that I could find that even had a free trial.

So, since I already knew it worked because I could test it, I bought it and was able to recover my friend's school documents from his crashed hard drive. I did notice that the paid software ran faster and was more responsive than the trial software so there is hope for those of you on the fence about buying it.

Despite my gripes, this software does what it advertises it will do (once you purchase it) and it does it well. My friend's data was recovered and really that's all that matters when looking for software like this.

"Saved my butt on more than one occasion!"

Pros

The free demo immediately showed me a list of deleted files which included the Microsoft Word files I knew I had accidentally deleted. These files were critical for a project due the next day. I was able to purchase the full version online, received my authorization code immediately, and I recovered my deleted files within seconds! Yes, really! That was almost a year ago. I have used it at least three or four times since then and not just to recover deleted files from my computer. I've also used it to undelete an audio file from my Sony digital recorder. I've also used it to undelete a picture from my cell phone. On another occasion, it recovered a video I had deleted from my flash drive. Simply put, you can recover any type of file from any type of device you can connect to your computer that contains the software.

Of note, I also purchased the CD in addition to the instant download just because I like to have CDs of all my programs for backup purposes.

Summary

I'm a computer geek (at least to some extent), but you don't need to be a computer geek to use this program to retrieve your deleted files. If it isn't working for you, just double-check the directions very carefully. If you're already stressed out from accidentally deleting your files, you might accidentally skip a step. Just be patient with yourself and try it again! You'll be glad you did! Sooooooooooo worth the cost of the software - and then some! -Donna M., Southeast Michigan
