"Pretty good, easy recorder"
Version: RecordPad Sound Recorder 2.11
Pros
We used this (version 2.12) to record audio during a research project. Very easy to use. Record, Stop, auto-saved with pre-configured file name that supports variables such as date and time (which we used). The settings are per user profile, so need to approach that issue if necessary. We configured it for MP3 output. It has a variable bitrate option (which is nice to save space), but we didn't use it. It also has a nice little audio playback window, showing you all of your recordings.
Cons
It loads itself into Notification Tray, so when quitting program, still remains running in tray (can close in tray though and option in File Menu to close without running in tray). When it's running in the tray and try to re-open via desktop shortcut, it doesn't work -- need to use tray icon to re-open.
We didn't use it for the other features, only recording audio, so I can't comment on them.

"I run one setup to install all these morons, one uninstall should have worked."
Version: RecordPad Sound Recorder 2.11
Pros
I didnt like anything. Its impossible to figure out what to do, and when you do,
it doesnt really work.
Cons
It installed too many garbage-software. I thought I was installing components
of the same software, instead of different programs all along. And if that was
the case, then since I used one setup to install all this garbage, then one uninstall should have sufficed. Well, it didnt. It is malicious software after all.
-
"It acts too much like malicious software for my tastes."
Version: RecordPad Sound Recorder 2.11
Pros
It dowloaded easy enough and actually wasn't that hard to record with.
Cons
The software acts like malicious software. I blocked me from using Internet Explorer and I had to delete it in order to get my internet software working again-Even so, there is still this annoying pop up of theirs that interferes with my startup.
If the trail version is that malicious, why on earth would I bother paying for such trouble?

"Easy to use"
Version: RecordPad Sound Recorder 2.11
Pros
Its quick to start and options are simple and understandble.
There are only minor settings and you would'nt expect anything else.
Cons
Would appriciate if it came with some more mp3 incoding software like Ogg Verbish and Lame.

"Easy to use, came with more than Sound Recorder"
Version: RecordPad Sound Recorder 2.11
Pros
Both Sound Recorder & WavePad were very easy to use. I'm not an expert on sound software, but it didn't take long to figure out.
Nice interface, worked well for converting .wav to .mp3.
Small program size. I did not use any of the other programs (Mixer, phone recorder, etc) and I only used this for the trial period, I did not buy it.
Cons
The installation included more than just the Sound Recorder.
Would like to have customized install, so I can choose whether I want a VoIP phone recorder or not, especially since I don't have VoIP!
