If you want to edit a raster file in your CAD program, you must first convert it to a vector file. RasterVect allows you to transform paper drawings into a vector format. At first glance, this software seems to be a carbon copy of Adobe Photoshop. Plenty of editing functions will keep you satisfied--any file can be rotated, parts can be cropped, colors can be changed, and various effects can be produced. The interface is well-organized, with all editing features located in the main menu. The most important tool palettes, with working tools such as zooming, painting, and scrolling, appear on the right side of the screen. We found the tutorial helpful, with plenty of detailed examples and explanations. RasterVect also offers TWAIN support for importing images directly from scanners. Taking into account all these tools and features, when it comes to vector-image editors, this program takes the cake.Publisher's description
From RasterVect Software :Vectorizer RasterVect can transform any raster images into a vector format. Raster drawings can be imported by scanning original paper drawings. There is TWAIN support for importing from scanners. Images can be acquired from any scanner. The target vector formats (DXF, WMF, EMF, EPS, and AI) are supported by most CAD applications that use vector graphics, such as AutoCAD and Corel Draw. There are viewing tools such as zooming, scrolling, and color selection. It recognizes orthogonal lines, inclined lines, arcs, and circles; has four various conversion methods (outline, centerline, and so on); has modes Ortho and Snap; keeps scale of an initial drawing; can correct a turn angle of an initial raster drawing; has a despeckle filter; has vector and raster editing opportunities; has Batch Mode (now with macros); supports various raster and vector formats; and has a combined (raster+vector) format. In this latest version : Macros have been added and a few minor bugs have been fixed.
