CNET Editors' review
RSS is like a drug for news junkies, allowing headlines, blog posts, and podcasts to be sent automatically to a computer's desktop every day. RSS Bandit is a freeware software program for subscribing, managing, and reading this flow of news.
It has many attractive features, allowing a user to merge news headlines from multiple sources onto a single page and organize articles based on keyword, read/unread status, and age. We liked the built-in tabbed browser that allows a user to read the full article and search for new newsfeeds without quitting the program. Adding newfeeds is a simple one-click action, and the software lets users customize frequency and display settings for each individual feed. Once those settings are chosen, the program updates automatically and can display alerts whenever a new headline is available.
We would have liked to see a more flexible search capability, and the internal browser could have used an address bar to make Web navigation a bit easier, but on the whole RSS Bandit is an attractive choice for Web news hounds.

"Good - but not much"
Version: RSS Bandit 1.6.0.1
Pros
I'm looking for a new reader to replace Feedreader 3.12, which uses a lot of memory (90-130 MB on a 1GB ThinkPad T41). The interface is good, and the included browser works good too.
Cons
Memory consumption is basically the same as Feedreader, peaking at 176MB sometimes. News folders' count of unread items is sometimes confusing. all in all, couldn't find a reason to switch from my current reader.

"Does the Job with Ease"
Version: RSS Bandit 1.6.0.1
Pros
1. Ease of use.
2. Very intuitive to me. Sort of work in a logical manner.
3. Layout of screen is good and moves back and forth into browsing and next feed with ease.
Cons
N/A at this stage. Will continue to try out other RSS readers . I am relatively new at the RSS game.

"Exactly what I was looking for"
Version: RSS Bandit 1.6.0.1
Pros
Completely flexible on whether I auto download any feeds (for all and each feed)
Easy Categorization (multiple layers)
Flexible on whether and how it informs me of new feeds (for all and each feed)
Allows for network storage of feeds
Feeds are stored as the native file, not in a locked database, so I can get at the feeds (in this case mp3's) from anywhere in my network using my mp3 player, I don't need to re-open Bandit.
Doesn't take up space on task bar when minimized.
FREE!!!!!

"Difficult to download"
Version: RSS Bandit 1.6.0.1
Cons
Download process bogs down in advertisements for other products.

"Seems to work, but flagged my anti-spyware"
Version: RSS Bandit 1.6.0.1
Pros
It seemed to be a good GUI and have some neat functions, however I never used them, see Cons.
Cons
Many things I did not like.
1) No EULA (end user liscence agreement). Why not? Something is fishy here. On a side note on this, this was a featured download, and right beneath was an article on keeping your computer safe, stating that you shouldnt install software without an EULA.
2) As soon as I started RSSBandit, Spyware Terminator's realtime proctection popped up with a high threat level.
3) Firewall popped up, and my firewall is set pretty liberal, I almost never have to allow a program to access the internet, so when it asks, I question.
So no EULA, and two unusal flags popping up. No thank you. Add one and at least I will feel better about installing.
