If you need a little extra motivation to give up cigarettes or any other vice, QuitMeter Counter tallies how much money you're saving by not indulging. Setting up each vice works similarly: you enter how much you consume and how much each item costs. The included money pits are smoking, beer drinking, eBay, lottery tickets, M&Ms, Nicorette, Snickers, and Starbucks. The Vice-o-matic option measures your unnamed sin by the gram.
The program automatically notes your quit time and begins counting. It comes with dozens of skins, with options for measuring the passing time. You can enter "slippage" without having to restart the meter. The Options menu provides online resources on addiction and quitting nicotine. Hotpaste lets you share your progress with friends. We would have liked an option to start the program on system start-up, and a calorie meter for the candy and liquid vices would rock. The program takes about 10MB of resources, too. Still, anyone trying to give up bad habits may find QuitMeter Counter invaluable.
Publisher's description
From Wilson Smith :QuitMeter Counter Standalone calculates to the second (or minute, or hour, or month, or year - you name it) how long it's been since quitting smoking (or a variety of other vices), along with the amount of money saved. It runs whenever your computer is on, so it can be checked anytime with a click of the mouse. No-smoking stats can be inserted into an e-mail with a single hotpaste key combination.

Version: QuitMeter Counter 1.0.7
"It's great for those who have vices..."
Pros: I tried it for curiosity, but as a freeware product, it is great for those who want to track how much they spend on a vice and how much they can spare!

Version: QuitMeter Counter 1.0.7
"Fun, easy way to keep track of your clean time"

Version: QuitMeter Counter 1.0.7
Pros: Remember when software authors focused on accomplishing one task, and didn't feel the need to include a word processor, date book, to-do list and FTP client in every piece of software they wrote? Wilson Smith does, and QuitMeter is the result. Want to know the financial benefits of quitting your favorite vice? QuitMeter is eminently customizable to fit your particular situation. Some software tries to be all things and does none of them well. This does one thing, does it well, and doesn't bog down your computer with lots of unnecessary and mostly unused gobbledygook. I wish Microsoft would learn this lesson.
