This application oversees computer use by allowing you to assign usage times, although some features aren't as convenient as expected. QualityTime lets you schedule available time slots for multiple users. It offers its settings in English and German, requiring a bit of extra time to download the featured Microsoft Agent animated speech agents. Its interface is unambiguous and you can schedule user time allotments in fifteen minute increments using color-coded blocks for mornings, afternoons, and weekends. The aforementioned speech agents give users a warning to save their work five minutes prior to logging off and again when only one minute remains. Usage reports are available for viewing, though you'll have to paste it into a spreadsheet or word processor to view it. You'll only receive seven days to test it, but even so, QualityTimes PC time-management skills are effective for those needing to share and limit computer time.Publisher's description
From Wieser Software :Quality Time solves all of those arguments about computer usage in the home. Now you can limit usage to particular times of the day, and limit individuals to an amount of time within those periods, without having to have an argument. Quality Time also generates a simple report of computer usage for each user for the past week. Just login as the administrator, click the report button, and paste it into your word processor or spreadsheet. You can set the allowed times with 15-minute granularity, and each user can have their own time band. When only five minutes remain, a warning is shown using Microsoft Agent Characters. The character speaks any message you enter. A final warning is given at one minute. You can also choose to have Quality Time hang up the modem and disconnect the internet connection when a user logs out, to help control bandwidth usage on your internet connection.
Version 4.08 now starts in safe mode for limited users on XP/2000 to prevent unauthorized use of the system. Also, the installation program is improved.

Version: Quality Time 4.08
"the program behaved as a virus"
Pros: the program looked solid and nice at the beginning with a funny acting character... until I restarted my computer...
Cons: First, the program did not ask me to set the administrator password - after installation it closed itself. When I restarted the computer, the program did not let me to use the computer asking for the password which I did not have.
I had to restart the computer in the safe mode to remove the program and continue working. Donwload it if you are okay with the idea of letting a stupid program to control your own access to your computer.

Version: Quality Time 4.08
"Absolutely INDISPENSABLE to my family!"
Pros: We have used QualityTime for over 3 years and have just upgraded to the latest version. This program allows us to effectively control the amount of time my three boys spend on the computer. They have never figured out a way to get around it -- they tried changing the system time and QualityTime simply locked up the system on them in response. It is easy enough for my 4-year old to use to log in, change passwords, etc. I often use the feature that allows them "extra time today". It turned a real problem in our family -- the kids spending too much time on the computer -- into a non-issue. I just wish they had QualityTime for TV and GameBoy! Plus, no ads, no spyware!
Cons: Everything I might have listed as a con for this program has been resolved in this latest release! It's now perfect.

Version: Quality Time 4.08
"Easy to use works great, a must if you have children!"
Pros: You can set it up and have it functional within minutes of the initial download.Good support, great price!
Cons: Haven't encountered any.
Summary: You could spend 2-3 times as much money on other access control software but why waste money, I've owned this software for over 4 years. Controlling my 4 kids access used to take lots of time and energy and my wife and I would always get in yelling ... read more >>
