A simple little program that tells you how long you've quit smoking. Enter how many cigarettes you used to smoke a day, and how much those dirty death sticks used to cost you, and PuffFree also tells you how much you've saved.

I don't know the whole thing about the 'Life Saved' aspect, but I based my program on my experiences with various Windows based 'Quit Meters', etc. Basically, for each cigarette smoked, your life is shortened a certain amount of minutes. Most of the other programs base their calculations of 5 minutes per cigarette, so that is what PuffFree defaults to but you can change that value to whatever you like.

There is a great newgroup alt.support.stop-smoking (AS3) specifically for supporting people who want to quit smoking. Drop in, rant and rave or get information about quitting techniques from the people who have first hand experience. There are some notations people there use to indicate how long they have been tobacco free.
