With plenty of applications out there for receiving, finding, playing, and managing podcasts, there has been an obvious drought in software designed specifically to create podcasts. Propaganda is a fantastically designed, full-featured program that makes it easy for beginners to record, arrange, and output the necessary files to join the podcasting revolution.
The first thing you'll notice about Propaganda is the gorgeous interface. Wrapped in an iTunes-esque brushed-metal skin, the program is truly striking. The interface is divided into three panes: one for your library of files, one that shows files in use for the current project, and an intuitive multitrack Arrange window where you assemble everything via drag-and-drop transfers. Recording audio is as simple as hitting the Record button and adjusting the input level. Propaganda is definitely geared toward first-timers, but many basic controls--including those for volume, EQ, and automatic rewinding--seem overly complicated. Once your project is assembled, the awesome Publish feature creates the necessary XML, HTML, and MP3 files to get your podcast download-ready. Note that the trial version inserts promo messages into your podcasts, so you'll need to pay the full $49.95 to get your Internet radio career underway. Still, despite a few usability trip-ups, Propaganda is the most full-featured start-to-finish podcasting application we've run across and comes highly recommended.
Publisher's description
From MixMeister Technology :Propaganda lets you create commercial-quality Podcast shows with a minimum of effort. And beyond sequencing, you can edit any clip to make it shorter, louder, or quieter.
Propaganda also handles music and sound effects. When you're satisfied with your production, simply click the Publish button and share it with the world. Propaganda will upload your completed Podcast to your Web site, with full RSS, XML, and HTML support. Version 1.2.1 includes 90 days of free podcast hosting, powered by libsyn.com.

Version: Propaganda 1.2.1
Pros: This software has a nice intuitive interface, that makes for a smooth learning curve and easy operation. You can layer recordings over each other (imported wavs and mp3s too) for effects like voice over music. Dead air and coughs etc can be cut out easily, and recording quality is as good as your hardware. For those complaining about the promo announcement that gets recorded over your work in the trial version, this is flagged pretty clearly before you download, and the full version, at $49.99, is a bargain.
Cons: The software will create wavs and mp3 files, but getting the settings right for mp3s takes a bit of trial and error - the default settings for mp3 are low quality, and variable bitrate, which means that they play too fast on Flash-based web players and won't burn to an audio CD. But get the settings right, and the rest is a dream.

"Constantly crashes in Windows XP. Zero support."
Cons: Product crashes every time I try to remove recently recorded tracks from the library. Often unable to import tracks into library. Web based inquiries to tech support never returned. Avoid this product.

Version: Propaganda 1.2.1
Pros: Not being that techno saavy, I wanted something to help me podcast for my blogsite real fast and without too much hassle. Propaganda was it. Wish it were free, but I didn't mind paying the price as I got up and running within an hour.
Cons: Wish there were more built-in sound effects and there was more to it program wise.
