From Prognosti Software :Monitor the devices on your local network or the Internet to determine if they are accessible from your computer. Use it to quickly identify and locate networking problems. The program runs in the background and uses the ECHO protocol to ping each device at a specified interval. The main window displays the current status of each device, and a status history window can be accessed by double-clicking on the device name.

"did not like just started and it locked up every time"
Pros: What I liked about it ??????????? not much
It even locked up on uninstall

Pros: I like that it gives you real-time network monitoring capabilities. It will tell you the status of any device on your network. You can also give items a name.
Cons: You have to know the IP Address and what type of connection it is.

"Does one job well - monitors the internet connection!"
Pros: It's simple. If all you want to monitor is the reliability of your internet connection, this is it. Other "network monitors"are typically designed for testing every aspect of the computers on a large network - WAY too complicated.
Cons: No real cons. Works simply, easy to set up.
Summary: Two suggestions for the next version: Allow a shorter test interval following a failure - I.e, Test once a minute until it fails, then test every five seconds until it recovers. Record the duration of outages, log the elapsed time from failure to ... read more >>
