- Version reviewed: Privatefirewall w/Pest Patrol 6.0.11.27
The Pest Patrol antispyware scan is quick compared to other programs. The quick scan finds dangerous spyware components while alerting you to programs that could be a threat (file-sharing programs), letting you decide if you want to keep or delete them. Switching among the different features was sluggish on our test machine, but other than that the program ran smoothly. We also received several firewall notifications for programs (such as Firefox and Microsoft Outlook) that we think the program should allow access by default. Overall, we find Privatefirewall w/Pest Patrol a good solution for dual protection. People who prefer to download one program that provides both antispyware and firewall protection, should definitely check out the trial for this suite.
