This free application does a great job at providing privacy online and off, though it only works with Internet Explorer. Privacy Patrol has a basic and simple interface that allows you to delete both local and IE activity tracks. As with other online-privacy tools, this application takes care of the basics by eliminating cookies, histories, autocomplete data, and caches.

You'll also be able to remove several Windows traces such as the Recent Documents list, temporary files, the Run command history, and the Windows Media Player list. The pop-up blocker is quite effective, so much so that in some instances an entire Web site is barred from loading. Privacy Patrol also features two convenient one-button hot keys to thwart prying eyes by instantly closing and subsequently reopening your browser. For tracks cleaning and a few extras, IE users can make full use of this free utility.
