This privacy utility doesn't provide the highest level of protection around, but it offers more than we usually expect from a freebie. Privacy Mantra's nonresizable main window basically consists of four expanding check boxes, which let you include or exclude items from a cleaning session.
As you might expect, the utility can wipe away your Web-surfing traces from both Internet Explorer and Firefox, though it lacks support for other alternative browsers, such as Opera. Privacy Mantra also cleans up areas of your Windows system, including the Recycle Bin and the Clipboard. The list of supported third-party applications isn't exhaustive, but the utility can zap your usage history from the Microsoft Office suite, as well as other popular programs such as Adobe Acrobat and Nero Burning ROM.
You won't find a scheduling feature or a secure file shredder, but you can't expect everything from freeware. Users short on cash will find Privacy Mantra handles the basics just fine.
Publisher's description
From Codeode :Privacy Mantra keeps your computer clean from online and offline tracks. Most people are unaware that every Web site they have visited remains in the undeletable index.dat file, even after the Internet history and cache has been removed. Your system also is keeping information of executables you run, movies you watch, and documents you open. Some of these prints can not be deleted manually as they are locked by the system.
Privacy Mantra will erase and wash away most privacy threats in your machine including Internet history, cache, cookies, index.dat files, auto-complete forms, the search assistant, recent documents, open and save dialogs, run files, and Mozilla Firefox. Privacy Mantra allows the user to easily download the latest database of threats. For maximum flexibility you can also create your own cleaning plugins and download others. Version 2.02 is able to directly erase files with custom plugins and locations are now sorted on name.

Pros: Very easy to use and does just as it says it does. Also a plus, doesn't take up to much RAM! I highly reccomend it! :)

Version: Privacy Mantra 2.02
Pros: Cleared 93.11mb even after running CCleaner.
Cons: Did NOT clear IE7 cache, history or anything Internet Explorer related. You have to manually select all the areas you wish to clean. There isn't a quick select button to select all the areas which is a minor irritation. The database needs to updated and for a cleaner, version updates are understandable not database updates. If you want more of you computer cleaned than CCleaner can get to, use this one but it is still not perfect with Vista basic. After installing, the program was non-functional after the first run.

Version: Privacy Mantra 2.02
Pros: It does clean up, some, but not as well as other programs.
Cons: For a program that has privacy in it's name and as it's supposed aim, this was very stubborn about letting me uninstall it.
It did not get registered in my XP Pro Add/Remove Programs and the unistall.exe that it loaded just wants to install this program, again! It did not show up in other uninstall software that I have, nor in the uninstall section of CCleaner. Big pain time!
I think that I've got rid of it by going through the registry entries after I deleted everything that it had installed. Maybe I was unlucky, but I wish it left my PC in a similar way that it claims that it gets rid of unwanted files on my PC. I'd recommend CCleaner over it anyway, which is why I decided that I didn't want PrivacyMantra. The former has more options for you to control what it does and CCleaner does more too. It does uninstalls(when programs register themselves, openly!)and it's far better at cleaning up crap left from deleted programs etc.
