This no-frills program adds a few basic features to enhance the default Print Screen function. Using Print Screen Replacement's basic configuration window, you can define the destination file for captured images, create a filename's prefix, and select image quality using the slide bar. The next time you press the Print Screen button from your keyboard, it will then direct images to your specified output path. Shortcuts let you specify whether it captures the desktop, the active window, or a portion of the screen. Although the program is capable of uploading the output directly to an FTP server, you have to figure out things on your own due to a missing help file. This freeware worked well in our tests, and even the novice can use it, but its limited functionality may not impress more advanced users.Publisher's description

Version: Print Screen Replacement 1.3
Pros: Simple replacement, lets you capture entire screen (PRTSCR), entire window (ALT-PRTSCR) or a selectable area (CTRL-PRTSCR). Automated naming of files makes captures go fast.
Cons: No option to get prompted for a file name each time, but that is also a time-saver. No complaints.

Version: Print Screen Replacement 1.3
Pros: It's easy to use. The cropping is useful when you only want a portion of the screen to be printed.
Cons: If I wanted to select a list that is so long that it is not shown on the current screen, the cropping function does not scroll down as I drag, so I have to do it twice to capture a long list.
Summary: I also like it saving onto the clipboard and if I want to keep it as an image file, I could use one of the photo editing software, or even Paint will save it as bmp or jpg etc. On the whole, this product works the way it's designed for, and it's fr... read more >>
