This free application routinely serves up Bible verses from your PC's system tray. PowerVerse provides passages from eight books of the Bible, including Romans, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. You can decide how often the pop-ups should appear and how long they should stay onscreen. The program delivers verses in five skins, though some of them look quite a bit alike. PowerVerse groups verses into different themes, though you can edit them or even create your own. The program's Bible Reader feature lets you search books by chapter and verse, useful if you want to see specific entries rather than random ones. While some users may find all those pop-ups annoying, persons who want regular doses of the gospel are likely to enjoy this program.Publisher's description
From Wintune.net :PowerVerse periodically displays Bible verses on your desktop. It will display the verses using MSN-Messenger-like pop-ups on top of the system tray. You can configure how often it will pop up and show verses, there are many styles to choose from, and it features easy to add or delete Bible verses.

Version: PowerVerse 1.0
Pros: Very good to have on each computer in the world, people need more the Word of God than ever. The comment from sep 2004, it's wrong. The old Testament on any Bible version call Jehovah to God; the new Testament doesn't.
Cons: Background color varities

Version: PowerVerse 1.0
Cons: This is for Jehovah's Witnesses. Do not use if you are Christian.
-
Version: PowerVerse 1.0
Summary: Seems like every verse had the word "Jehovah" which indicates that this may be a Jehovah's Witness's version - beware!!
-
Version: PowerVerse 1.0
"Excelent in quality and flexibility"
Summary: Easy to set up. Allows you to include your own verses, and you can click on verse to get previous or post verses. The ONLY thing I am not crazey about is the skin. Job well done, especially for free!
