Portia Video Center is a Windows program to play DVD video programmes with fixed schedules. Most DVDs require the user to select subtitles etc. from interactive DVD menus. Scheduled automatic playout of DVD video is therefore not practical. But Portia Video Center solves this problem: DVD movies can be scheduled for unattended playback while DVD menu options are selected automatically. The player module can play DVD video from one or more DVD drives and from hard-disk files. Portia Video Center also lets you organise your DVD library and can supplement your movie information with data from the Internet. Portia Video Center is typically used to play scheduled DVD video programmes on closed TV networks or public displays. For example to audiences at hospitals, museums, exhibitions, schools, dormitories or ferries.
Version 2.0.2543 fixes the bug which prevented some recurring video programme listings from playing more than once.
