CNET Editors' review
This so-called killer barely irritated pop-ups during our tests.
Popup Killer's interface is a tiny stoplight on your system tray. Don't be fooled by its ease of use. Click it to easily change how many windows are allowed. (You might expect that entering the number 1 in the maximum open-windows box would stop all pop-ups. It doesn't. ) You can just as easily set how often to check open windows, down to the millisecond. You can take a few seconds to type in the title of a window you want to close immediately on opening. (That's not much help for one-shot pop-ups.) It's only logical to assume the included help file explains the program. (It doesn't.)
Its shortcomings are too much trouble for a piece of software that doesn't add any new function to your browser. Popup Killer's trial is a mere 10 days, but that's nine days and 23 hours more than you need to test and delete this program.
Publisher's Description
From Bulgarian Software:
You can limit the maximum number of opened windows. The program does not use and does not install external libraries. While being installed and uninstalled it causes no problems with Windows. Pop-up Cleaner is tested and is successfully working with Windows.
It works with Netscape Communicator and Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla, MSN Explorer. It is still not tested with NeoPlanet but it is supposed to work with it too. As MDI (Multi Document Interface) is used in the Opera browser, Pop-up Cleaner cannot work with it.
