Though not as glamorous as other anti-pop-up programs, Popup Killer stops almost every kind of intrusive ad. One thing we immediately noticed was that the app is listed as All Popup Remover on one icon, as well as in the main window. However, it is named correctly at the developer's site and on the disable button. This puppy stopped most ads when put through a battery of standard and advanced tests. The interface is simple, featuring an icon for temporarily disabling Popup Killer at specific sites, a control for toggling sound on and off, and a button that lets you buy the program. We like that Popup Killer notifies you each time an ad is blocked; also, the ability to hold down the Control key if you want to allow a specific pop-up is a nice touch. The pop-up counter didn't list every blocked ad, but since your browser window notifies you each time the program eliminates a pop-up, we can do without a running tally. Overall, we like Popup Killer for its simple interface and almost flawless effectiveness against ads, though we find the 15-day trial period a bit stingy.Publisher's description
From Topdownloads :Popup Killer is a small program that can be configured to automatically close previously selected windows. Since the first public version, no pop-up has evolved from a purely manual application, wherein you manually select pop-ups to an intelligent program that detects potential pop-up windows and closes them so fast you won't even see them.

Version: Popup Killer 4.0
"The original in PopUp Killing."
Pros: It was the best popup killer in its day.
Cons: Its pretty much obsolete. Its sole purpose was to block popup advertisements. This was before the days of toolbars like Google Toolbar and before the days of Windows XP SP2, giving IE6 a built in pop-up blocker.
Not developed anymore.
