From PolderbitS Software :PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Editor helps you transfer tapes, LPs, live performances, Internet radio, TV, DVD, or any other sound source to your hard drive. The software helps protect your valuable recordings--just set the sound source, the recording quality, and volume, then start recording. The Editor automatically splits your wave recording into multiple tracks, and you can trim the start and end of each track or use fade-in and fade-out functions. You can save recordings in WAV or MPEG (MP3) media formats, and then use your standard CD-burner software to burn your recordings to CD. It includes a click and crackle filter for cleaning vinyl records, a noise filter for cassette-tape recordings, and an equalizer to enhance the sound quality of all recordings. Version 5 features new automatic track splitter options and support for ID3V1 MP3-tags. The software is available in English, German, Spanish, and Dutch.
Version 6 build 96 improved sound source selection in Windows Vista, as well as on other systems having more than one sound card. Monitoring option while recording, for sound sources or USB devices having no direct speaker connection.

Pros: absolutely dead simple to use...and....brilliant results...beats buying USB cassette decks or turntables...forget it...just install this and your off
with built in mic..levelling editors...equalizer & tweaks such as crackle & scratch depression from choked vinyl....I think the results you get from this are ultra cool
your vinyl is re-invigorated and cassettes dragged right up to date....and with the processing power we have these days...you hear your old tunes as you never have...especially thru the home system thru real/monkey or winamp...perfect

"Fine sound, user-friendly, reliable"
Pros: Bought Polderbits recorder/editor 18 months ago and use often. Took a free update. A work of genius. Always runs instantly, sounds great, has a sensible level indicator (that's a must) and a choice of recording qualities. All you need, without distracting razzmatazz. I'm a broadcast-trained sound-man, so made a careful choice!
