Your Pocket PC might have shipped with a music player already installed, but PocketMusic makes a case for itself as your mobile jukebox of choice. By default, the program's soothing blue interface puts all of the main controls near the center of the screen, with additional icons for accessing options; activivating the EQ and X-Bass features; and shuffling tracks. The program also features a "skin" that makes PocketMusic look almost identical to Winamp, but we had to fool around for a bit to find our way back to the default layout.
Creating a playlist is a simple matter of clicking the appropriate icon and browsing your handheld for songs. The adjustable 10-band EQ comes with a healthy helping of presets, and you can easily enable or disable a crossfading feature. The built-in alarm clock is certainly a plus, as is support for codecs beyond MP3, including OGG and WMA. The 15-day trial is a bit shorter than we'd like but should give most mobile users enough time to fully evaluate the program. Pocket PC owners who routinely use their handheld for entertainment purposes should test this one out sooner or later.

Version: PocketMusic 2.52
Pros: This program has it all. You can even get add ons for some of the newer file formats out there. I spent several hours online searching for the right music app for my new 6700 and settled on this one after trying it for free for 7 days. It has very clear playback an extremely intuitive interface and for those used to Winamp it has a skin that looks just like WinAMP. As a m atter of fact you can even mod it with most winamp 2.0 skins available on the 'net.
Cons: I honestly have nothing negative that I've discovered about it yet.

Version: PocketMusic 2.52
"Good when it worked, but now won't boot"
Summary: I used the freebie, and then paid them $19.95 for the version with all the goodies. Now, it won't work (gives error on boot), and their tech service is useless. So I'm out the money and the thing doesn't work! POOR!
