Pros: Of course, it's not free as described here. But i found 25% discount for all Plato software here:

Pros: It looks like it could do its job.
Cons: It is difficult to navigate and select the correct start/end time.
It cannot extract video from camcorder-recorded discs.
The little video it can do (more on that next) is glitchy.
It is marked as free, but actually it's a ree trial.Summary: If you're looking for a free program that can rip DVD video, and convert it to a file compatible with a portable player, then it is not what you're looking for.

"The trial version only lets you convert 15min of dvd."
Pros: Did not meet my needs, but looks like a good product.
Cons: Trial free use is limited to the aforementioned 15minutes of footage.

"Limited to 15 Minutes. Not Free"
Pros: Appears to cover all the formats but with a 15 minute limit, it is useless.
Cons: Difficult to get it to work on home SonyCam videos. It is looking for the "main movie" to rip. When I finally got it to work it told me my video was too long. 23 minutes.
Summary: Not free. Not usable with a 15minute limit. A waste of my time.
