"great program but installed malware on my computer"
Version: Pixie 4.1
Pros
My rating is not for pixie, I love and use this program a ton
Cons
my rating is for the fact that after installing my computer had several new items running in the background from "conduit" it also restarted my browser and installed a new search bar. final and most irritating is the fact that it hijacked my browser home page. had to do a computer restore to get fix it
Summary
great program just don't install it from this source
-
"Perfect Color Sampler with no install required."
Version: Pixie 4.1
Pros
This lightweight non-installing program is perfect for getting the RGB and HTML color codes. It works much like the eye dropper function in other programs but it is more accurate and reports the value at the end of your pointer. When done simply close the program no uninstall required. Useful and very small memory foot print.
Cons
I did not have any issues used this program on Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Cons
Careful when you download. Click you are not interested in all the extra crap they want to put in your computer. Click Custom download.
That's it!Summary

"cmyk problems"
Version: Pixie 4.1
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
The cmyk values I was getting from Pixie did not match the values I was getting from other programs.
-
"I'd be lost without it."
Version: Pixie 4.1
Pros
I've been using Pixie for about five years from XP through Vista to 7. It's one of the first apps to go on a new machine. As tiny as it is, it keeps getting better with new features.
Cons
None that I've found. It's clumsy with Microsoft products because they don't accept HTML code input. Microsoft color picker is inherently awkward.
Summary
Precise, pixel-perfect color matching in HEX, HTML, RGB, CMYK AND HSV. I especially appreciate the hotkey copy function for HTML values.
I love that it operates independently, across other apps, so I can grab a color from a webpage and pop it into Photoshop or a web editor.
The new color mixer and magnifier options rock. -

Cons
None whatsoever.
Summary
Small, easy, delivers, makes design life easier.
-

Has some problem with Show/Hide. If you let it get out of sight (To StatusBar), you won't be able to use it anymore till you restar your computer.
Also the letters are very small. With a 15' screen monitor I needed to use a lent.Summary
Very necessary and very useful. But tends to disappear just when you need it.
