"Obviously not designed for a Mac computer. Skip this."

    February 22, 2011   |   By williamrj3$

    Version: Pinball 7.5

    Pros

    Nothing I can think of

    Cons

This application is about 3.5 by 5.5 inches on the screen of my 27" iMac. That would not be a problem if the window could be resized, but it is fixed. The top of the pinball field extends off of the screen. It's hard to evaluate the action.

    Summary

I love pinball simulations on computers and have tried many different ones in the past. I downloaded this because I like to try new games as they come out. It is hard to really evaluate the program because a game is limited to one ball only in the demo mode. This hardly allows for any testing of how well the game works, including the controls that you have to master before playing the game. This game may be really good on an iPhone, but you will not enjoy it on any device that has a bigger screen than the iPhone. I hope the developer makes changes necessary to make this a game that Mac COMPUTER owners would enjoy to play.

i have played pintables for 20 yrs. I have also played many video versions of pinball. within 10 mins of playing this game i can say it does not respond like real pinball. the flippers do not come close to pinball. I found the flippers very unresponsive and give this game 2/10.

"Doesn't come close to fulfulling its own hype"

I love pinball. I was hoping for a "3D pinball game with lots of amazing effects and options"

Nope. Not even close, in my opinion. More like "a decent but not spectacular way to spend a bit of time"

I'm with the others who recommend LittleWing... (http://www.littlewingpinball.com/contents/en/index.html)

baKno ought to take a look at the LittleWing pinball games, see what *can be done* and maybe tone down the description of their own effort a bit.

"Garbage like this almost makes me embarrassed to..."

    Version: MacPinball 1.5

    Summary

    ...own a Mac

I completely switched from Windows to OS X for over 2 years now and have no regrets. But I swear... every now and then some new game comes out for OS X that just makes me cringe. This pinball game has such pathetically amateurish, outdated graphics that seem to have been culled from something programmed 20 years ago. It should be a crime that he actually wants money for this. And what's with that constant bobbling about that the pinball table is doing? I've never seen a real life table do that and I just don't see the point of it here. I know asking for a pinball game on the level of the Pro Pinball series may be asking for a bit much, but if this the state of gaming for OS X this deep into the 21st century, then it's a sad state indeed.
