These days your smartphone or tablet isn't complete without a photo-editing app. PicArts Photo Studio makes an admirable case for being the only photo-editing app you need. It isn't as pretty as some other apps that edit your photos, but it's just as powerful and easy to use. It sets you up for easy sharing, too.
After PicArts Photo Studio installs, it will scan your SD card and phone for photo files. That means you can't get down to editing right away, but the scan only takes a few seconds. It can import pictures from Facebook, too. As far as features to edit your photos, all the usual suspects are here and easy to find. From filters to cropping and retouching to polishing, you'll be able to do just about anything you want with any of your photos. It lacks some of the redundant features that some photo-editing apps boast, but you won't miss them too much. The only issue is that because the feature icons are so close to the bottom-screen ads, accidental taps are very common. That makes an already uninspiring layout downright annoying.
The cheesy layout is really the only knock on this powerful app. It's simple and sleek enough to rival top apps like Instagram and Snapseed in features and performance. If you don't mind staring at nasty ads and a boring layout, give PicArts Photo Studio a shot. It stands just as tall as any other editing app on Android.
