From AlkSoft:

This software uses the Monte Carlo method (random number generation) to calculate the value of pi (3.14...) with statistics. It might help you understand numerical methods or serve as an introduction to scientific computing. You can also save all the data generated as tab delimited text files to import into your favorite spreadsheet.

What's new in this version: This version uses REALbasic 'threads' so that it does not seize control of your computer while calculating. You can now run the software in the background and do other things while it is calculating.
