PhotoScape is a free image editor that is designed to be fun and easy to use. It not only resizes, edits, and tweaks your digital snapshots and other image files but also creates slideshows and animated GIFs, captures screenshots, combines and splits images, and more. PhotoScape can do lots of fun things to your pictures, and its modules, circular feature selector, and video tutorials take care of the "easy" part.
We mentioned PhotoScape's unique, circular module selector, which duplicates and adds to the features on the program's toolbar, except the first tab, PhotoScape, which is the home screen (though all the tools are available on the toolbar via the toolbar menu). Another unique and interesting feature displays a photo grabbed from Flickr. You can click to change the image or turn the feature off. The Viewer tool's tree view and thumbnails helped us make quick work of finding and loading our images; the tree view persists in the upper left corner, too, when you move on to PhotoScape's various features, starting with the Editor. The Editor collects the most frequently needed editing tools in a console, but the compact view hides a plethora of options; for instance, the Filter menu has 25 items, and nine of those items have submenus. The Editor tools can do everything from adding objects to removing moles: we had quite a laugh when the random wallpaper image we opened turned out to be screen legend Anne Francis and her famous mole! But we could also paint, draw, stamp, and make mosaics out of our images.
More fun: Animated GIFs are easy to make with PhotoScape, including resizing images, changing the timing and alignment, and automatically resizing all photos to the first image's size. The Page editor includes a huge range of templates for creating frames, borders, and collages, while the pop-up Raw Converter converts RAW images from DSLR cameras into JPEGs. A cool Paper Print tool prints letters, music sheets, calendars, planners, and more. Be sure to check out the online Face Search tool. "Free, worked great,easy,don't have to install google"

tI installed this using custom installation option. I unchecked the coupon companion, and then it begins to download if you watch and wait as it is downloading you will be given the option to install or not install google toolbar, I chose not to install it. Perhaps the people who installed it and said it installed things they didn't want and changed their browser didn't use the customn installation option. It worked great, as soon as it installed I selected an anniversary picture, added a wedding border, enhanced the color, and added text. I tried a few different frames, and other editing options, cartoons etc, and easily undid them by selecting the undo button. I really needed this software, and it works beautifuly, and is very easy to us.

No cons . Worked great. No spyware adware detected.

"Excellent GIF animator"

Pros
I tried an on-line GIF animator service. That hung up and never finished. I truncated the job, and it took a while before I lost interest. On the other hand, the PhotoScape 3.6.2 download GIF animator operation was self evident, easy to use, and completed the job without appreciable delay.
Cons
I haven't tried the multitude of additional functions. But even if no other functions work, I am thrilled so far.

"Can't give it 0 stars - installer modifies your browser"

I found no intuitive way to edit an existing gif maybe I didn't look hard enough but when I clicked help and it opened my web browser I found that even though I deselected ever optional crapware install my web browser had a new toolbar it had also changed my default search engine. That caused me to uninstall it immediately. If a program hides anything from me on install it's gone because I never know what else it may be hiding.
Summary
The program may work but I cannot recommend anything that changes your system without permission. I DETEST the CNET Downloader. It is completely unnecessary software garbage and it keeps askingif I want crap ware installed. A software review and download site should know better. Unfortunately some program creators use it as the sole download source - even for updates - so I have to use it. In this case it further obfuscates the secret installation of system altering software. Shame on you Photoscape and Shame on CNET for facilitating such potentially destructive garbage on its site.

"I TRIED THEM ALL AND THIS IS THE BEST"

Pros
I was editing my photos within 5 minutes and absolutely every feature you need. Everything easy to find and use. I tried Picassa, Gimp, and many others but all so complicated. My favorite was MS Picture Manager with my old xp computer but the crap that comes with Windows 7 is pure garbage. Until I found this one that is.
Cons
No Cons. I found no adware or spyware but I was careful to uncheck everything on the CNET downloader.
Summary
The closest program to the old MS Picture Manager which was my favorite editor except this has even more features.

Absolutely no Pros. Zero rating, not the .5 I am forced to give to post my rating.
Cons
It immediately installed adware to my facebook account and then when I uninstalled it, it left behind two issues: PUP.Bundle.Installer.OI and PUP.fct-these two left me unable to post comments on fb.
